This is literally one of our daughter’s favorite books. The morning she got it, she made me read it to her 10 times in a row. I think you somehow nailed making a book that is appealing to adults in the witty wording and visuals, and the sound of the rhymes and again the visuals that are appealing.
Phoebe loves your book we read it multiple times in a row and then she has to hold it herself and just STARE at the pages and hold it extra close to her face.
What a delightful book that appeals to both young and old readers! The story of The Chocolate Seed from harvest, through the stages of production, provide a connection from table to earth. It helps children understand where our food is sourced from, as well as, all the hands that go in to making the “art” and “science” of an edible table food. Wonderful book. Thank you Nettie.
The story is written in a way that caters to all ages. I can read it to my 1 year old, who enjoys the rhythmic patterns, and my 5 year old and can read it to me. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a unique children’s gift, or something new for the bookshelf.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK! The only person who loves it more than me is my 18 month old daughter! It is clever, informative, and the illustrations are breathtaking. It is a perfect little book. There are some children’s books I read because my daughter ask’s me too, but this one I enjoy every time.
