My fascination with chocolate began in 2001 at a lecture by Michael Coe on his book The True History of Chocolate, which he co-authored with his late wife Sophie, at the Natural History Museum in Chicago. This sparked my interest in the world of chocolate.
After moving to San Francisco, I started visiting local craft chocolate makers like Dandelion Chocolate and connecting with craft chocolate makers and farmers around the globe.
I don’t make chocolate myself, my strength is in teaching. While my original degree was in photography, I later ran a successful preschool in San Francisco focused on cultivating curiosity and a love of learning through hands-on exploration. Now, my passion lies in educating others about chocolate. I’ve authored books, multimedia content, and educational programs on the topic for both adults and children. I also host chocolate tastings and events to share my knowledge.
I am grateful to have visited over 30 chocolate makers across the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, France, and Spain. Additionally, I make it a priority to visit the farmers and fermentation experts who are integral to the process. I have also had the privilege of learning from chocolate makers worldwide at 10 international chocolate festivals. My book, “The Chocolate Seed,” sold out its initial printing and is now available in craft chocolate shops globally.
My second book, “Boba and Butters’ Chocolate Adventure,” was published in Cambridge, England and has been featured at a children’s event during the chocolate festival in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
