“Those who can, do;
those who can’t, teach.”
– George Bernard Shaw
My journey into the world of chocolate began in 2001 at the Natural History Museum in Chicago, USA. Michael Coe was presenting a lecture on the book he wrote with his late wife Sophie, The True History of Chocolate. This sparked an interest for me in Chocolate. When we moved to San Francisco, I began visiting local chocolate makers such as Dandelion Chocolate and then started meeting chocolate makers around the globe.While visiting many small-batch, craft-chocolate makers around the world, I have seen you all have a lot on your plates! For the past few years, I have been trying to find my place in craft chocolate. I don’t make chocolate. My strength is teaching. While my original degree was in photography, I ran a successful preschool in San Francisco where the focus was on instilling curiosity and a love of learning through open-ended questions, hands-on activities, observation, and exploration. I have authored books and multimedia for training, engagement, education and enjoyment for both adults and children all in the world of chocolate.
